Black Points Farm started out as a small breeding and training facility in upstate New York. For 20 years we bred Connemara-TB crosses for eventing. Our most famous homebred is former advanced level eventing mare "Black Points Tilly Go Bragh", by the famous Connemara eventing stallion, Hideaway's Erin Go Bragh.

Tilly was Reserve National Champion Intermediate Horse in 1996 and jumped around clean on the challenging cross country course at the last long format Rolex CCI*** in 1997 with John Williams. Tilly has had four foals and after 11 years happily enjoying full retirement, she passed away in January 2017. There is a obituary in the April 17th issue of The Chronicle of the Horse.

All of our homebreds were trained using the methods in our horse training DVDs. Doing so allowed us to demonstrate how to start the foal with haltering and handling and to progress to the groundwork exercises of Attention, Respect, and Trust and then onto longeing and finally riding. We are no longer selling the DVDs on our website but do still have them. Contact the webmaster if you would like to purchase any at only $5 a DVD.

Since we are no longer breeding, we are concentrating on using our cross-country schooling course to allow others to get the experience they need jumping a large variety of cross country obstacles in a natural setting.
