Cross Country Schooling
Black Points Farm is pleased to make our cross country schooling course available.
The cross country schooling jumps and layout were designed and built by John Williams.
Grounds
A 20m x 60m outdoor sand arena is available for warm-up.
Standards, rails, garden boxes, a panel, a gate, a rolltop, and barrels for stadium jumping
practice will be available for your use.
We will change the location of the moveable jumps and add new jumps from time to time.
The course will be mowed and all ground lines will be visible.
Requirements
- Schooling alone is not permitted.
- Amateurs must be accompanied by a professional instructor.
- Instructors must carry liability insurance.
- Riders must wear a hard hat with chin strap harness at all times when mounted.
Protective vests are also suggested.
- Riders must have a signed Hold Harmless agreement on file with Black Points Farm.
Appointments
Because of our residential location and limited horse trailer parking, schoolings will be
by appointment only, and may be limited to 4 riders per session.

Schooling Costs
The cost to school one horse per schooling session is $40.00
payable to Black Points Farm.
Cross Country Jumps
Types of jumps currently available are:
Water Jump Complex with:
- Four Novice/Training height banks in or out
- A 2 foot bank in or out
- A simple ramp into the water
Bank Complex with:
- Uphill or downhill double banks/steps
- Smallest bank can be jumped singly up or down

We are building a Beginner Novice Rolltop and planning to construct a Ditch and
Wall combination.
Directions
The XC schooling course is located in the Town of Mendon, NY about 5 miles from the site
of the Stuart Horse Trials grounds.
